Spray paint on 24"x36" canvas. Based on Frederic Leigton's 1856 painting "The Fisherman and The Siren".
Spray paint on 24" x30" canvas. Based of Jean-Baptiste Regnault’s 1796/97 painting “Death Of Cleopatra” after the death of Mark Antony and herself at the hands of a self inflicted snake bite to avoid the embarrassment of being captured by roman soldiers. Fun fact: Cleopatra and Antony had a club called the ‘Inimitable Livers’ it was most likely a drinking club and “an excuse to lead a life of debauchery”. The year of their death they renamed the club ‘companions to the death’.
